For Starters

It’s that time of year, Thanksgiving is here and families gather for a hearty feast. Everyone was either coming or going within the DC metropolitan area for the holiday season. Alexis Jones always traveled north for the traditional holiday dinner at her mother and father’s home. However, instead of traveling out of town this year Alexis decided to have everyone over her house for Thanksgiving dinner. This would be her first time playing the host to friends and family. Besides, everyone could at least check out her brand new home of six months.

Alexis, a young communications professional and single mother of one planned for a festive holiday. Ideas of smoked turkey, traditional turkey, blackened salmon, roast beef, macaroni and cheese, collard, kale and mustard greens, sweet and mashed potatoes, apple and sweet potato pies, carrot cake, cheese cake and ice cream danced in her head. The decision to make all or some remained the outstanding question. After all, she was expecting a few friends and family and wanted the occasion to be real nice.

Then there was six-year old Casey - Alexis’ daughter. Casey was the typical little girl who asked many questions and gave a shy grin when she wanted something you had. In fact, you couldn’t help but offer whatever you had since her innocent grin was so irresistible. Casey was very observant of her mother and tried to imitate her mother’s actions as often as possible.

Alexis never married the father of her baby, but the two remained good friends. Casey’s dad’s name is Style Howard. Style and Alexis met while attending a very well known Historically Black College and University. Their relationship was fine while in college, but the two realized that their relationship needed more depth and maturity. They simply discovered that they were incompatible - the signs just did not show at first. That did not change their minds either when they learned of Alexis’s pregnancy while in their junior year. They were both surprised since they practiced safe sex. However, they viewed their child as a gift from God.

They were both determined to stay in school and graduate. Style took a job working fulltime at night doing telephone sales, while Alexis took on a job at a major Internet company. They both worked and studied while helping each other make through what would seem to be difficult at times. Needless to say they both graduated as planned and progressed with their professional endeavors. Style landed a job within finance and worked out of New York City with a Big Six-Accounting Firm. Alexis decided to stay with her current employer.

Casey was rather fortunate to have both parents involved in her life. Her dad would come down to visit every other weekend or Casey would fly up to visit him in New York. However, sometimes during the holiday season the parents split duties and Casey would sometimes spend the holiday with only one of her parents. Perhaps time apart would allow for an eventual circle of togetherness.

The Preparation

It’s now the day before Thanksgiving and Alexis finally figured out what she wanted to prepare for her friends and family for Thanksgiving dinner. So, she and Casey decided to go food shopping at the local supermarket. Mom and daughter looked very much alike - it’s just that one was obviously older than the other was. Alexis could stop traffic in the middle of a busy intersection. Strolling through the supermarket would be no different. It sometimes amused Alexis - the way grown men would forget what they were talking about as she strolled by. Sometimes brothers would end up bumping their shopping carts into someone else while casting a gaze at this big brown-eyed caramel beauty with a tightly fit body.

Strolling from one aisle to another, Alexis and Casey picked up all of the food that was needed. Finally, approaching the checkout stand Alexis noticed a friend near by and decided to say hello. Alexis brushed her hair back and said, “ Hello Sean. How have you been?” Sean was somewhat surprised that he did not notice Alexis in the checkout line. “Alexis! How are you doing? Long time no talk to?” It had been a while since Alexis and Sean had seen each other. The two decided to converse for the moment as the groceries were being packaged.

Alexis decided to extend an invitation for Sean to come over for dinner if he didn’t have plans. Sean actually had plans, but hinted that he might drop by for desert. Hey, if nothing else - an opportunity to re-kindle moments of yesterday.

Casey was very curious as she wondered who this tall brown brother was as he spoke with her mom. Casey grinned and said, “Mommy. Is that your friend?” Alexis was in a bit of a shock and forgot to introduce her daughter to Sean. “Honey, I’m sorry. This is Mr. Alexander. He’s an old friend of mommy’s.” Sean extended his hand and said, “Hello Casey. How are you?” Casey tried to hide her shyness, but replied, “I’m fine.”

The shopping was now full with the food and Sean was nice enough to walk Alexis to her car and help unload the groceries. All the while Alexis was thinking to herself how much Sean had changed since they were in college. Moreover, how much he had physically matured since the two had a brief fling while in their first year of college.

Nevertheless, the two decided to exchange numbers so that they could keep in touch. Besides, Alexis was free and open for a quality person to enter her and Casey’s life.

It was starting to get late in the evening and Alexis knew she had real job on her hands. She had to get her daughter bathed and ready for bed, clean up a bit and get the food prepared for her first big Thanksgiving day. Suddenly out of nowhere the doorbell rang. Alexis was a bit surprised, as she was not expecting anyone. She peeked through the side window and saw two older people standing at her door. Her parents decided to drop in early so they didn’t have to spend grueling hours in traffic.

Alexis shouted, “Mom and dad! What a welcomed surprise.” With relief on her mind Alexis knew exactly what she wanted everyone to do. Grandpa could help Casey get ready for bed and grandma could help get some of the food ready for Thanksgiving dinner. Sure enough - grandpa was well on his way to unloading their luggage from the car to the house, Casey was taking her bath, and water was running in the kitchen to prepare the greens for cleaning.

While cleaning the greens, Alexis’ mother said, “Lexis. How have you been girl? You know I got to check on my baby and see how things are going. And how’s that fine man - Style doing? Don’t know why you didn’t marry that man.”

“Mother, now you know that Style and I are just close friends. I’d like to keep it that way. Besides, I kind of like how things worked out anyway.”

“Hmmm. I just wish you two were able to work out whatever issues you had. You two make a nice couple. I’m older and wiser and know these things.”

Alexis’ mother wondered what went wrong between the two and finally decided to inquire a bit. “Honey, you know I like to mind my own business and don’t like poking my nose in other folks affairs. But, whatever went wrong with you and Style?”

Alexis sighed, “Mother -- You know we talked about this before. Style and I were just not making it. I would talk to him about my concerns and tell him what was on my mind. Sometimes I felt like I was talking to a wall.”

Her mother replied, “Girl! Is that it…it’s just you saw things one-way and he saw them another -- a bit of a communication issue? I wish you had told me this a long time ago. I’ve been teaching these school kids for twenty plus years. If there is one thing I know how to do…it’s to communicate with people. Besides, how do you think your daddy and I stayed together all these years?”

Alexis gazed outside her kitchen window reflecting on her mother’s words. Questions and thoughts ran through her mind. Did Alexis and Style really give each other a fair chance? Were they too young when decisions were made - prematurely or right on time? Was Alexis truly happy with where she was in her present life?

Alexis and her mother had most of the food prepared, as the night grew closer for everyone to go to bed. The greens and string beans were washed and cut, the salmon was cleaned and ready to be marinated, the turkey was washed and ready to go into the refrigerator and so was the macaroni and cheese. Alexis had set aside her sweet potatoes and white potatoes too, along with the corn on the cob for her corn pudding, and other items that would get prepared early the next morning.

Off went the kitchen light, up the stairs for a kiss good night for Casey, and a warm bath for the night. Alexis’ dad was already sound asleep and her mother was busy rolling her hair up. “ Good night mom,” as Alexis gave her mom a gentle peck on the cheek. “Good night baby. You sleep well and God bless you!” “ Thank you mom. You too!”

And, Casey was already gone for the night as she lay in her bed tucked in as only a grandpa can do. Alexis couldn’t help it as she remembered when her daddy used to tuck her in when she was a little girl. Alexis placed a kiss on her daughter’s forehead as she whispered goodnight.

The Bubble Bath

Alexis had a long day well into the evening and needed to wind down to ensure a good night’s rest. Into her bathroom she went - turning on her bath water and adjusting it to a nice relaxing temperature, lighting her passion flower scented candles and adding a few drops of coconut body oil and bubble bath to her running water. Off came her clothes, on went the radio tuned to her favorite show and off went the phone along with the lights.

Alexis slowly immersed herself into her sunken bathtub with the water just above her collarbone. Her neck rested on the edge of her tub - she closed both her eyes and let out a gentle sigh. Her day was long and this is just what she needed - time to herself!

The scent of the passionflower candles filled the air as the candlelight caressed Alexis’ caramel shade. The radio was playing some of the best slow jams and romantic soul music one could only ask for - and it just so happened that Atlantic Star’s song played - “Am I Dreaming?” Alexis knew the words to the song and decided to sing along. “Am I dreaming? Or, am I just imagining you’re here in my mind? Whoa, whoa…Will this last forever or do I have a lifetime? I’ve heard talk of angels….” Her head gently swayed left to right as if she was the lead singer of the soulful song holding onto every beat and not missing a word. All the while in the back of her mind - reflections of the conversation she had with her mother that evening.

There were thoughts of an old friend Sean she had ran into earlier that day and then thoughts of the father of her child -- Style. After all, Casey looked just like her daddy.

Slowly she drifted into a light sleep while relaxing. Drifting off into dreamland Alexis entertained thoughts of her old friend Sean…There she is in her sunken tub embraced in the arms of her Nubian Warrior, strong hands massaging coconut oil along every sensual curve of her body. Fingers pressing with confidence to ease every ounce of tension from her toes, behind her calves, strokes up, down and around her thighs, swaying thumbs back and forth working her inner thighs. Like a gentle breeze touching an oceans current - his palms arrive at the shores of her cocoa colored island.

On the radio came a dedication, “Yes…. uh, I’d like to make a dedication to a friend, who just happens to be the mother of my child. I’d like to dedicate the song called, “You Make My Life Complete,” though I’m not sure whom it’s by. I’d like to dedicate this song to Alexis. Thank You.” The radio announcer replied, “And your name caller?” “My name is Style.”

Alexis immediately caught herself and cleared her senses as her eyes fluttered with a bit of a surprise. She knew she was familiar with the voice and was surprised that Style was in town. Drying herself off with a plush white cotton towel - Alexis had no worries. Deep down inside -- she really missed her man and baby’s father. She gently rested her head on her oversized pillows and tucked herself under her cotton sheets and comforter while closing her eyes and listening to the song dedicated to her.

A Day of Thanks and Praise

Alexis slept well the night before. She made sure she got up early enough to make breakfast for everyone and finish the rest of her Thanksgiving dinner.

The aroma of the salmon cakes, crab cakes, hash browns and eggs eventually brought grandma, grandpa and Casey upstairs after taking their morning showers. Grandma got the juice, while Grandpa and Casey set the table. Everyone took their place at the table, joined hands, and bowed their heads while grandpa recited the blessing of the food.

A hungry little Casey sensed the end of the blessing and shouted, “Amen!” Her big brown eyes let everyone know that she could not wait to enjoy the breakfast her mother prepared. The Thanksgiving morning was blessed with love and Alexis could feel it. It felt so warm to have a sense of family enjoy a meal together - most occasion’s its only Alexis and Casey.

Soon after, everyone finished breakfast. Grandma and Casey rinsed off the dishes and stocked the dishwasher. Grandpa went for walk out side and Alexis got her second wind to get her turkey in the oven. While preparing the food and placing the finishing touches on some things, Alexis reached over to turn on the radio. She had a real love for jazzy, yet soulful music - it proved to be so relaxing. As soon as the sound came on - sure enough - Al Green was in the air. Singing one of his namesake ballads - “Still In Love with You.”

Alexis immediately thought of the happiness and love represented by her parents. Deep down inside - that was a yearning Alexis desired as well. However, Alexis was not one to settle - she knew what she wanted. She had a lot of love to give, to share and really did not ask for much! She simply wanted a man that could compliment her spiritually, stimulate her intellectually, grow with her economically, and romantically caress her soul. Someone that was not intimidated by one's success, but willing to bring something to the table as well.

As time passed through the day, grandpa and Casey read stories together as the football games played in the background. Grandma and Alexis set the table in preparation for additional family and friends. Soon after, Alexis made her way to the shower to relax a bit before everyone else arrived. No sooner than her bedroom door closed behind her - the doorbell rings.

A Little Bit of Spice and Something Nice

Some cousins and friends eventually made their way over to Alexis’ house. Sean even made his way over too. Everyone was dressed casually chic as their colognes and perfumes lightly filled the air.

While waiting on the hostess - folks sipped on their favorite holiday spirits from Moet with a single red cherry, Kendel Jackson white zinfandel on down to their favorite brew and soft drink. The football game played in the background; fellowship, laughter and good cheer filled the air.

It was a beautiful holiday mood as everyone patiently waited for Alexis. Mouths filled with appetizers of crab cakes, cheese and crackers, and freshly cut veggies came to a jaw dropping halt. Ms. Alexis made her way across her hardwood floors wearing a B. Michael body-skimming red cashmere dress. Her make up was flawless as her plush plum Oil of Olay lips parted to greet everyone with a warm holiday smile.

Alexis was quick to join in the conversation with everyone. She was bouncing from relatives to friends as she left a trail of her perfume -- Allure -- behind her.

Enough time had passed and Alexis knew it was time to give her hungry guests a dinner that was prepared with lots of love and happiness. Alexis made her announcement that the food was ready to be served and politely asked everyone to gather in the dining room for the blessing of the food as she turned off the television.

Folks filled a room with all of the prepared food, made observations of the contemporary art that was elegantly placed on the beige colored walls, appreciated the rose scented candles and bowed their heads. Hands clasped one another as Grandpa led everyone in prayer. Deep sighs and smiles evolved as the prayer ended. The gentlemen slowly pulled out the elegant, yet modern red armchairs to seat the ladies as everyone sat around a wooden based glass dining table to dine. Alexis stepped away for a moment to play the radio soft enough just so that everyone could hear the Quiet Storm.

Plates filled up quickly and bellies became full leaving just enough room for dessert. Out of nowhere the telephone rings. The warm holiday smile of Alexis answered the phone only to hear the voice of someone she had never forgot. “Hello ‘Lexus. It’s me Style. Happy holidays to you.” “Happy holidays to you too! Can I call you back - we’re just finishing our dinner?”

“I know this was not in our plans, but I’d like to come by and say hello to everyone. I’ve done a lot of thinking over the several month’s and I’d really like to talk with you.” Alexis was like, “Style…please. This really is not a good time. I have my friends and family here now…can’t we do this….Look -- Let me get with you later on this week!”

Style said, “It’s not my intention to impose. I miss you, I need you and I really want to be with you! Please…I, I won’t get in your way and I’ll even help you clean up. Besides…I have a surprise for you.”

The sultry sounds of Quiet Storm did not make it easy for Alexis to just say no. So, she told Style it would be okay to drop by. Besides, she missed some of the good things Style had to offer and knew Casey would be overjoyed to see her daddy. Alexis hung up the phone, made her back to her guests as she silently sang a popular Michelle N’Dagacello song to herself. The heavy base of the song played in the background - “if you feel the same for me the way I feel for you - I’m rushing over...”

She could feel the beat of the song make her heart dance with anticipation; she rocked and swayed in her plush chair, innocently looked at Casey and quietly smiled.

My Style - Your Style - Our Style

Style knew he had to do something to spark the emotion of love between the two. Trusted emotions, careful conversations with close friends and many nights alone - Style wanted to start all over again. Style knew he wanted to do the things that caught the attention of Alexis from the day they first met. For starters - he made sure to wear clothing that closely resembled what he wore on their first date. Style wore the latest that designer Eric Malik had to offer -- a rust colored silk top, with an autumn tweed bottom and suede shoes. To top that off - he had the fresh scent of Yang - a somewhat new fragrance for men sprayed along his muscular mocha Nubian frame.

Style turned on the Quiet Storm in his car. There came the sounds of Rodney Franklin singing, “A Song for You.” Style started to sing along, “forever on end - you have always been my friend. T his is a song for you my friend. You have been there through thick and thin. Ours is a love ‘til the end...” Style hummed the words he did not know, but knew his melody was genuine and his intentions were very sincere. He wanted to recapture a love lost and build on a future not made of empty promises, but actions of conviction.

Perhaps it was a good thing that Style had a few miles to drive. In some ways God has ways of communicating to us without us even realizing it. In Style’s case - maybe God had been working through the Quiet Storm DJ. After all, the brother got to also listen to Minnie Riperton singing, “Can You Feel What I’m Saying?” and Michael Franks smoothly croon, “The Lady Wants to Know.” It was nice and mellow. Style had a chance to reflect on things that he should have done, things that both Style and Alexis should have done and what really could have been if only the two had been just a little stronger or more mature if nothing else.

As Style pulled up into Alexis’ driveway to park his car - noticed all the lights on, shadows of body movement - he thought to himself, “Hmm. Lot’s of people - looks like everyone is having a good time!”

The Arrival

Knock, knock, and knock. Footsteps grew closer as the unlocking sound of the door allowed the opening of what could perhaps be a new beginning. Alexis was there to open the door as Style greeted her warmly with a lovable hug and a strong, but gentle kiss on the cheek. “Happy holiday’s Alexis. You look as beautiful as ever. Where’s my baby?”

Alexis noticed the glistening twinkle of love with Style’s big brown chocolate eyes as she smiled and hugged him back. She was very quick to observe the coordination of clothing selected by Style. Her eyes danced from Style's head, to his shoulders, chest, belt…paused at the mid-section, and continued on down to the sole of the shoe. Style had a gentlemanly manner about him, yet he had a sort of proud level of confidence in his soul too. It showed within his presence whenever he entered any room. “Casey! Casey…got a surprise for you…come here please.”

‘Daddy! Hi daddy!” Style gave Casey a great big kiss on too and quickly asked…how’s daddy’s little girl?” Casey replied with a warm hug as she lovingly embraced her daddy. Style made his way into the house and said hello to everyone as his handsome aura lit up the room. Folks were somewhat surprised, as they were not aware that Style was going to be there. Sean was surprised too - he was hoping to at least stick around and help clean up - late night kind of action. Nonetheless, Sean was stuck observing the brother along with everyone else. He shook his head with disappointment as the ladies' eyes shined with excitement.

Everyone quickly went back to their respective conversations. Style accepted Alexis’ offer for some dessert and noticed too that she was listening to the Quiet Storm. Style smiled and said to Alexis, “You know they play the kind of music to make you think. I was listening to the same station on my way over here. Remember this song…by The Blackbyrds. I think it’s called, “Soft and Easy?” I think it best describes you -- you know? C’mon, sing it with me. It’s the love inside that makes it so warm and easy….”

“Style…Look! Please eat your pie, go sit outside with everyone else and have a good time. I don’t have time for your mess tonight!” Style knew by the look in Alexis’ eyes that she was pretty serious…so he left well alone for now.

The evening grew late and some of the folks started to depart. Grandma and Grandpa helped clean the dishes up. Style took Casey for her bath and read a bedtime story to her. Slowly Casey drifted off to sleep while the remaining friends and family left grandma and grandpa turned in for the night. Alexis decided to kick back for a few minutes since her day was so congested. It felt good to just kick back, close the eyes, rest her feet for just a bit and listen to the smooth sounds of holiday love fill the air.

A Gentle Kiss!

Style emerged from his daughter’s room and made his way back to Alexis. Alexis was kind of sleep, but aware of what was going on around her. Style saw Alexis resting and gently smiled. Alexis looked so peaceful as she lay beneath the soft lights and sounds of mellow music.

For Style’s sake - a song from the past played. It was a song that was playing the night both Style and Alexis went on their first date and shared their first kiss. It was Enchantment singing….”It’s You That I Need.” With the sultry sounds softly playing in the background - Style got closer to Alexis. Slowly slipping a part of Alexis into his mouth. Much to her surprise - each toe was tenderly polished with a soothing, wet, warm, and affectionate tongue. From one foot to the other - the whole six minutes of the song - Style’s head rocked gracefully back and forth wiggling from left to right.

As the music continued on the radio - Style went with the flow of the moment. Style worked his tongue and lips, caressing every inch of Alexis’ legs right on up to her tattoo beneath her belly button. The Valentine Brothers crooned in the background as they bellowed out, “Let Me Get Close to You.” Alexis felt the softness of the tongue and lips work their magic. Style sweetly, yet softly sucked and caressed every inch of Alexis with gentle kisses. He gave her just enough tongue to taste. Soon after Style started to sing along with the song….”I want to get close to you….baby…let me get close to you…baby!”

His handsome hands romantically clasped the softness of hers in a manner that was so gentlemanly, swiveling his palms to interlock his fingers between hers. Yet, his thumb stroked her palm with such sensitivity - her eyes closed as she breathed through the moments of passion.

Style’s tongue worked it’s magic around Alexis’ hidden secret. Beneath her belly button was a neat little tattoo of a mistletoe branch and leaf leading down to her wreath.

Styles eyes were fully focused on Alexis - sensitive to everything around them. No eyes wandered to anything that appeared to be a distraction. After a seductive stroke of the fingers to the neck and shoulders of Alexis, Style -- with confidence - ventured into Alexis’ wreath.

Gently parting her neatly trimmed brush - down to her roots. In the valley of passion, Style let his tongue wade on the shores of Alexis as he waited for the tide of love to rise. As her roots of her wreath became drenched with the tides of passion -- the deeper Style went - embedded within the wreath of ecstasy. Coming up for air and within a split second back again.

Her waters were warm; her shores grew wide. Alexis placed her legs across the muscular shoulders of her Nubian prince - Style. He cradled Alexis as she slow danced to the rhythm of the Quiet Storm. Softly stroking the ears, the back of the neck, the top of the head - Alexis always knew that there was something special in the way Style could kiss.

Sure the brother had it going on, successful, a good father and all that. Perhaps, both Style and Alexis could make it work. They just needed to talk and to maintain an understanding between the two. Alexis spoke and Style…well he listened…multitasking his romantic duties. His romantic tongue decided to continuously massage the wreath of passion!

“Style, is there anyway that we can just…hmmm…just…take our time, and uh…hmmm…allow our friendship to grow? I love you and Patti Label sings…I need you…honey, I...ohh! You are making me mess up the words to the song. We really need to talk!” Style came up for a quick second and replied, ”I got what you want, we were made for each other. I want to be the best of friends forever never to leave your side, my daughter’s side. I want to be there - to grow with you, compliment you spiritually, engage you and your soul romantically, intellectually stimulate you, listen to you whenever I can and most off all...allow you to do the same! Can you feel what a brotha’ is trying to say to a sista?”

Alexis simply replied, "I think the song on the radio says it all. We have what’s called, 'Ain’t Understanding Mellow!' Can you feel what a sista’ is saying to a brotha’?”

Style thought and spoke….”Yeah! Baby you’re right…my lips...They are getting cold and I want you to make them warm some more!” Alexis gracefully winked her eye and gently pushed her man's head back to her mistletoe.

Style said in his descent, “Let me know what you want for Christmas. I’m here to stay and I don’t plan on going anywhere any time soon. I do however have an appointment for us at the jeweler’s to look at some diamonds.” Alexis was like….”Hmmm. Can we have Thanksgiving everyday?”

Style stroked and nodded yes as he continued his kiss beneath the mistletoe.

Uh - Oh!

The message within a song can sometimes be a timely and unusual blessing. For Style and Alexis it was on time and the message could not have been more motivating. Alexis wanted to hear from Style the commitment of the, “Honey I love you! Or, Baby, I’ve been thinking about you and I really miss you!” To say something is one thing, but to mean it by your actions is definitely another. Alexis wanted the action behind the statements. Actions based on observations - not reminders.

The candles burned to comfort the scent of love while the mellow melodies disturbed the silence of the night. Amour was always present between Style and Alexis - mutually for each other. Soft, sensual smooches caressed one another with a tender taste of each other’s tongue. Alexis slowly covered Style's branch with a golden magnum - to carefully become one with her wreath.

Slowly, confidently and tenderly Style ventured into the wreath so long desired. Alexis drizzled with happiness, as her showers got heavier with winds of passion. She gently whispered into her Nubian Prince’s ear, “Style. Tell me how much you love me. And, and saaay it to let me know that you mean it! I’ll know if you mean what you say!”

Sometimes you have to go with the flow of tender moments. Thrusting with bursts of ecstasy Style moved to the rhythm of the harmony that played. “Girl, you know I, I, I, I, I, I LOVE you - no matter what you do. And I hope you understand me -- every word I say is true! Cause I luv’ you! Baby, I’m thinking of you -- trying to be more of a man for you! I don’t have much riches, but we are gonna see it through…cause I luv’ you! Uh, Ohh, ohh, ohh, ohh….woah…ohh!”

Tears slowly rolled from the wells of Style’s eyes. Yet, all the while Alexis’ wreath grew tighter as Style pulled her closer and closer. Style cried as he professed his love for the mother of his child, his friend, and his lost love. Style tried to sing the song of passion, but thought best to just let Lenny Williams cry out his tune.

Style was thankful of the moment to come to terms with himself and to let Alexis know just how he feels. Style's branch showered honey suckled sap within the wreath of someone near and dear to his heart. Holding Alexis as the tears flowed, Lenny Williams cried out one Oh, Oh after another. Style synchronized with the song of a lifetime to finish with Lenny and simply say, “I Love You!”

The crystallized eyes of Alexis stared into the wetness of Style's eyes. As she stroked her silky fingertips on the back of Style’s head on down to the base of his - she graciously caressed his lips with hers. Simply she said, “I love you.”

Style and Alexis cradled each other for the rest of that night. Whispering promises into each other’s ear slowly falling asleep. In each other’s arms that night into the morning -- they met a new light. The sun gradually crept its way through the windows towards a brand new day. Fingers interlocked with the softness of palms massaging each other - an old couple rediscovered one another. A promise to last through eternity with a kiss beneath the mistletoe.
